We intervened to assist because she is pregnant and nearing the time to deliver her puppies, making her health especially critical. Her tail wags incessantly, and her eyes seem to plead, “Please help my babies, please.” The team swiftly transported Carmi to the veterinary clinic. A comprehensive blood test was conducted; the results indicated anemia, low red blood cell count, and elevated white blood cell count due to a severe blood infection. Elevated BUN levels suggest kidney disease, likely a consequence of chemical exposure. Fortunately, she tested negative for distemper.
