Nikki from @myfosterkittens was alerted by a friend to a distressed kitten stranded in a tree in a Walmart parking area. The kitten was suffering, with his eyelids sealed shut due to infection. Although she was at work, Nikki instructed the caller on how to safely retrieve the kitten. Later, she collected him and was touched by his gentle disposition. Wally, as she called him, seemed to thank her through his meows in the transport carrier. At Nikki’s house, he contentedly purred as she cared for him.
Nikki from myfosterkittens explains that she quickly took Wally to a veterinarian the following day after rescuing him. After surgery to address his infected eye sockets resulting from microphthalmia, Wally sought solace on his foster mom’s lap, purring and kneading contentedly. Despite facing two additional surgeries to tackle the severe infection, Wally is healing well, with his stitches soon to be removed, and hopes high that no more surgeries will be needed.
Nikki from myfosterkittens notes that Wally’s name was inspired by the Walmart parking lot, often referred to as ‘Wally World,’ where he was found. Wally shows gratitude to his human caregivers, expressing thanks every day for their nurturing and support.

“He’s healthy and perpetually cheerful, reveling in his play sessions. He serves as a profound inspiration to me and others. His challenges do not deter him from enjoying his life fully,” Nikki told Love Meow. Although Wally cannot see, he navigates the world using his other senses.
“Exciting news – Wally is soon to start a new chapter of his life in Charlotte, NC, traveling from Las Vegas!” Nikki announced. Wally is thrilled as he anticipates his new life. “His tail wags like that of a lively puppy, which is incredibly touching! Wally is a source of joy and affection.”
