As a child, I experienced intense separation anxiety, a feeling many of us can relate to, including our beloved pets. Our furry family members can become deeply saddened when apart from us, and any pet owner who has had to leave their animal companions knows the emotional toll it can take.
Recently, a woman had to embark on a three-week business trip, leaving her cherished Chow Chow at home. The separation was clearly hard on the dog, as evidenced by a profoundly emotional moment during a FaceTime call.
The woman’s daughter explained, “My Chow Chow was talking to my mom over FaceTime, expressing her love and looking incredibly sad because my mom had been away for work for three weeks.”
While technology like video calls can’t fully replace the physical presence of an owner, it certainly helps to lessen the emotional distance. It’s a solace for many pet owners who, due to travel for vacation or business, find themselves missing their pets deeply. Checking in via FaceTime has become a common way for owners and pets to reconnect and share moments, despite the miles between them.
